Heritage Coast Live Oak

One of the heritage trees in front of Kingscote Gardens that needed to come down due to decay. 2 benches that came from this tree sit here today for students to enjoy and remember the tree.

Heartbreaking to see, but several of the huge heritage Coast Live Oak trees on Stanford campus had fallen due to heavy winds in 2023, and several others were deemed necessary to come down due to decay that had rendered the trees likely to fall in the next windstorm.

We were grateful to help with the full process from safe removal, all the way to co-designing and fabricating the benches and tables to fabricate from these trees.

The benches and tables now sit all throughout Stanford campus for students and faculty to enjoy, including Kingscote Gardens, Lake Lagunita, and Faculty Club.
